PORTLAND United assistant-manager Mark (Reggie) Carter is hoping for a repeat performance from Saturday as they prepare to visit Bashley tonight in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division (7.45pm).

The Blues were boosted at the weekend with a superb 6-2 win against Bemerton Heath Harlequins that sees them up to fifth in the table.

Carter said: “We have got the same squad as Saturday, no injuries, we are going with the same bodies. Hopefully it will be a repeat performance.”

Carter said that Saturday’s result was good, but eyes room for improvement.

Carter said: “Saturday was pleasing because we played to our full potential.

“We want to tighten up a little bit because there were a couple

of soft goals we gave away because if you want to do well you have

got to eliminate those silly mistakes.

“It is a tough place to go Bashley, they are a good, organised side that play good football.

“So it is not going to be a pushover up there for sure.

“We have got to be on our game again as we were on Saturday.

“Hopefully, if we are on our game, we will come away with something.

“The team have set their standards with Saturday’s performance.”
