WAREHAM RGRS RES 0

UPWEY & BROADWEY 5

CHARLIE Allen notched a hat-trick and Tom Cherry bagged a brace as Upwey & Broadwey comfortably beat Wareham Rangers Reserves in Division One of the Dorset League.

The win boosts them up to eighth in the table after they were too clinical for Rangers and deserved their victory.

Cherry opened the scoring when a corner was swung in after 20 minutes.

Allen then grabbed the second after 40 minutes, to put the home side under real pressure heading into half-time.

Wareham improved in the second half but this made it easier for Upwey, who were able to take advantage and counter attack to devastating effect.

After 52 minutes, Allen secured a brace with a great goal for the visitors with a great move through the middle before Cherry laid the ball off for Allen to fire in.

Late on, Upwey widened the scoreline significantly, with two goals after 88 minutes.

Firstly, Cherry lashed in a shot that the Wareham goalkeeper did well to save, but Cherry was alert enough to slot the parried ball into the net.

Allen then nipped in and rounded the Wareham goalkeeper to slot in and seal the impressive margin of victory.

Upwey manager Steve Reynolds said: “It was 5-0, an excellent win away from home.

“To be honest, we should have had that scoreline at half-time.

“It was a good all-round performance.”

Upwey host Wool United tomorrow (2pm).
