WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley says he cannot be more happy after beating Frome Town 4-0 in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.

The Terras saw Brandon Goodship claim a well-taken hat-trick before Calvin Brooks added a late goal, while at the other end Jordan Seabright was rarely troubled between the Weymouth sticks.

Molesley said: “They obviously had to come out and attack us a bit more and luckily we have benefitted from that and found some space to hammer home and grab another three goals.

“I am delighted, a clean sheet and three points at home. You cannot be more happy.”

Weymouth had initially found it tough going in the first half, with the Robins defending well before their captain Sam Teale fouled Ben Thomson to give a late penalty in the first half, which Goodship confidently dispatched.

Molesley said “We had to be patient in the first half, they defended well. It was a dull afternoon weather wise, windy, rainy and we battled against the elements a little bit.

“We kept probing, kept moving the ball and eventually got our opening and I think that changed their game plan.

Commenting on the conditions, with Weymouth facing a side in the relegation zone while chasing down a team at the top of the table knowing that games in hand will take you top, Molesley praised his side’s attitude.

Molesley said: “That’s our main emphasis just on our work rate and our attitude and I think we got that spot on.

“I thought we were energetic and had a good intensity about us when we needed to be.

“We have had a lot of football lately, we had extra time on Tuesday as well. We have managed the game well so I am really pleased.

Molesley also took time to praise striker Goodship, who’s hat-trick had the match wrapped up before Brooks’ late strike.

Molesley said: “That is a typical Brandon performance wasn’t it?.

“A hat-trick, some great finishes a few near misses, an assist and some good recovery runs as well which I was pleased about.

“All in all it was a great afternoon for him and once he gets that one goal you can just seem him brimming with confidence, and defenders must fear the worst when he is like that.”

Molesley was also pleased with new signing Yemi Odubade, who enjoyed a productive match before being substituted after 78 minutes, and assisted Goodship for his second strike.

“We literally signed him in the latter part of this week. We are delighted to have him at the football club, he brings a wealth of experience.

“You can see what a talented player he is but he is also a good character to have around with a lot of experience.

“I thought he fitted in really well.”

Molesley was also pleased with how the signing reflects on the club as a whole, showing that Weymouth are a club that people like the former Yeovil and Stevenage player Odubade will join.

“He will hopefully enjoy his time here for a month, it shows how far the football club has come when players like that are looking to come into your football club.

“He did not need any convincing, I think if anything he was keen to come here.”

Next up for Weymouth is when they host Gosport Borough tomorrow (7.45pm).
