FENITON 2
LYME REGIS 5
LYME Regis endured a poor 15 minutes before hitting back to beat Feniton 5-2 in the Devon & Exeter Premier Division.
Goals from Cody Bowditch and Ben Vine saw the Seasiders 2-0 up after half an hour, but Lyme withstood a Feniton equaliser at 2-2 before eventually coasting to victory.
The game opened with a lengthy stoppage, the Feniton full-back having a suspected, but thankfully not, broken ankle.
Lyme opened the scoring through Bowditch with a tap-in from close range after good work from Vine engineered the chance and put the ball in low across goal for the Seasider after 10 minutes.
Within five minutes, a carbon copy goal saw Bowditch turn provider for Vine to slam in from close range.
Yet disaster struck when Gary Knight gave away a penalty, which Feniton duly tucked in.
Soon after, a corner was swung in and Feniton were able to nod in the equaliser.
Bowditch secured his brace from a Rob Fellingham free-kick as Lyme re-took the lead late in the first half.
The victory was wrapped up in a comfortable second half.
In the first 10 minutes Lyme had the match sealed when Fellingham scored with a near-post header, before Vine nodded in the fifth soon after.
Lyme Regis: Meech, Fowler, Knight, Wellman, Herbst, Fellingham, Bailey (A Rowe 60), Parsons, Jones (Simier 65), Vine, Bowditch (Holmes 72).
