SECURING an Evo-Stik Southern Premier South play-off berth remains in Poole Town’s hands after a 2-1 victory at fourth-placed Met Police.
Poole’s Marvin Brooks and Jake Scrimshaw scored either side of Ethan Chislett’s equaliser to ensure that potential victories over Weymouth and Staines would guarantee a play-off spot for the Dolphins.
Kings Langley kept pace with Poole after a late 1-0 win over Dorchester – Lango’s remaining games are against Walton Casuals and relegated Frome.
Frome’s demise was confirmed after a 4-1 reverse at Basingstoke while Casuals, beaten 4-2 at Salisbury, slipped into the drop zone after Gosport’s 5-0 win at Staines.
Taunton closed the gap to leaders Weymouth to three points after a 3-2 win at Hendon, while Wimborne virtually assured themselves of survival after a 1-0 win over Swindon Supermarine.
Elsewhere, Hartley Wintney beat Beaconsfield 2-0 while Merthyr and Farnborough drew 0-0. There were 1-1 draws for Tiverton and Harrow plus Weymouth and Chesham.
Weston-super-Mare will drop down from the National League South after a 2-0 loss to Hampton and Richmond, while Blackfield and Langley are promoted from the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South as champions after a 4-0 win over Evesham United.
League officials expect a reshuffle of teams due to four southern sides - Havant and Waterlooville, Aldershot, Braintree and Maidstone - suffering relegation from the National League.
