BRIDPORT have appointed Rich Robson as their new permanent manager.

Former Dorchester Town Reserves boss Robson takes over from the departed Adam Fricker, who led the Bees to 13th in the recently completed Toolstation Western League Premier Division season.

Robson has named ex-Bridport midfielder, current Balti Sports captain and former Dorchester Town Reserves man Ryan Dovell as his assistant-manager.

Dovell's appointment means previous number two Paddy Behan will not continue in his prior role at the club.

Robson had been one of several contenders for the job, with a number of interviews taking place this week under the watchful eye of Bees' chairman Adrian Scadding.

Bridport have acted quickly to secure Robson's services with the young manager very highly thought of in Dorset football.

Most recently, Robson assisted Dorchester's first-team with coaching and on-field drills in pre-match warm-ups during the tenure of former Magpies' boss Steve Thompson.

While Dorchester Town Reserves withdrew from the Wyvern Midweek Combination League prior to last season, Robson had been named as assistant to Simon Browne at Portland United in 2018 for a brief spell.
