WEST Bay is set to welcome more than 30 of Britain’s leading offshore race teams as round three of the OCRDA gets underway as part of The Aqua Adrenaline Tour on the weekend of Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7.

This year it will encompass a round of the International Powerboat Championships as well as jet ski racing.

Last year’s event attracted large crowds and despite choppy conditions, competition was fast and furious over the two day, four race programme.

The OCR fleet is made up of four classes depending on engine size, the most popular division being Formula Two with 150hp engines which produce speeds of 60mph plus.

Spectators at West Bay enjoy a stunning ready-made grandstand overlooking the

racing.

The boats are lined up onshore when not racing and enthusiasts can meet the crews and photograph the craft at close quarters.

Whether you are on holiday or a nearby resident, offshore circuit racing provides enough excitement to satisfy the most demanding watersport enthusiasts and it’s one of the few sporting events you can enjoy, free of charge.
