BRIDPORT manager Rich Robson believes the Bees are heading into a period of winnable fixtures, beginning with a clash against Keynsham Town at St Mary’s Field on Saturday (3pm).

Robson’s men have only picked up one Toolstation Western League Premier Division win all season – a 2-1 victory at fellow strugglers Cadbury Heath.

Bridport currently sit 19th of 21 teams having played six games and face promoted side Keynsham, who occupy 13th, three points above the Bees.

Robson said: “We’re going into a month of fixtures where every one of the games we’re going to look to get something from.

“We’ll be approaching this fixture with the same preparation, the same desire to go and win – we’re really going to go for these games this month.”

Bridport are also chasing their first points at home, something Robson is keen to achieve sooner rather than later.

“There’s no better time than this weekend,” he said. “We’ve got a settled formation and team in our mind.

“In the second half on Saturday I don’t think I’ve seen a team batter another team without winning the game, so that’s promising.

“If we can take that sort of mentality into this game, there’s no reason why we can’t start the ball rolling and get our first home win, which is so, so important.”

Robinson Okumu is set to return to university and the Bees are otherwise injury-free.

Robson said: “Rob won’t feature, but that being said Joe Charles is coming into the side – it’s one in, one out.

“We’re trying to make signings, so we’ll see what happens. We’re always trying to improve the team.”
