Weymouth's trip to Essex to play Billericay today has been called off after vandals damaged the pitch this morning.

Bridport and Portland's games have also been postponed due to the poor weather.

Billericay Town FC issued the following statement: "We are sad to report that, following a break-in during the early hours of Saturday morning, our pitch has sustained damage from two vehicles that were driven around the playing surface.

"That coupled with the recent heavy rain has resulted in today's game being postponed.

"The incident has been reported to the police and CCTV footage has been obtained, the pitch damage will be swiftly rectified. The BTFC family is bigger than incidents of this nature."

Weymouth put out a message of support to Billericay on social media to say they hoped the culprits would be found and that the situation could be resolved.

Portland's game against Tadley Calleva has also been called off, with strong winds rocking the isle this morning.

Bridport FC also announced that all of their matches have been called off through their social media channels.

However, Dorchester Town are still on to play Harrow Borough at 3pm, so fans can travel to The Avenue for a match this afternoon to get their football fix.
