BRIDPORT are braced for a “must-win” game at home to Wellington tonight (7.45pm), according to assistant-manager Kevin Leigh.

Jamie Manley’s men lost 3-2 at promotion-chasing Bridgwater Town on Saturday but moved up to 18th on goal difference courtesy of Chipping Sodbury’s 6-0 thrashing at Shepton Mallet.

The Bees now take on the 20th-placed Tangerines with just two points separating the sides, knowing victory could put daylight between the two.

Leigh said: “It’s a massive game. It’s one of the games you look at in different league tables.

“Where we are, we’ve got to definitely win that bottom four so we can catch the fifth-bottom team.

“We’ve got Wellington, then Tavistock, Keynsham the following Saturday then Odd Down.

“It’s those sorts of games we’ve got to try and get something out of. The Odd Down and Wellington games are must-win.”

Striker Tony Pinder will miss out through unavailability, Bridport may add a new player to their ranks on dual registration forms and midfielder Tom Richardson could return.
