BALTI Sports’ boss Marco Nott admits he fears tomorrow’s Dorset Premier League clash at Swanage Town & Herston will not go ahead tomorrow (3pm).

Storm Brendan and heavy rain throughout the week has taken its toll on the Days Park pitch, with Swanage officials intimating further rain could put paid to the fixture.

Speaking to Echosport, Nott said: “It’s pretty relentless with the weather – I’m not too hopeful.

“We’ve heard from Swanage already and they’ve suggested it’s very unlikely to be on with the amount of rain.

“Hopefully we can have a dry spell, but I don’t think it’s going to be. It’s a case of waiting.”

Should the game go ahead, Nott is mindful of previous titanic struggles between the sides, including a memorable 6-5 win for Balti in 2017.

He said: “It’s a tough old ground down there. We have really good games, with ridiculously high scores.

“I quite like playing down there, it’s a nice little trip and will definitely be a tough game.

“We’ve ended the run of the top three (teams) but Swanage away is difficult – we’ll have to be on our mettle, that’s for sure.”

Balti are expected to sign Bridport centre-back Lloyd Beals before tomorrow.

Nott said: “I don’t think he’s going to get much game time at Bridport.

“He’s a good player and will offer quite a lot to us. He’s a solid defender and is quite versatile, he can play in midfield as well. He’s quite athletic so will be a good signing for us.”

Ryan Dovell (knee), Ricky Lane (work) and Liam Taylor (hamstring) miss out.
