NORWICH City star Todd Cantwell admitted the “strange” decision from Steve Cook “made it much easier” for his team to control the game against Cherries.
Cook’s costly deliberate handball saw him sent off on 31 minutes and helped Daniel Farke’s men to a much-needed 1-0 success over Eddie Howe’s side at Carrow Road.
The Cherries defender’s dismissal came when he palmed Ondrej Duda's goalbound shot onto the post - Teemu Pukki fired the winner from the subsequent penalty.
Cantwell, who enjoyed a stellar game for the hosts, said: “It was a bit of a strange decision from him (Cook). I am not sure what brought that on.
“We are thankful for that as it made it much easier to control the game with less pressure.
“Maybe when teams are near the bottom, that happens.”
Bottom side Norwich are now just three points below Cherries in the league table.
