BRIDPORT manager Jamie Manley has raised questions over the commencement of next season.

Manley’s Bees last week saw their Toolstation Western League Premier Division voided by the FA due to COVID-19, although that decision is still to be ratified by the FA Council.

It has since emerged that over 100 non-league clubs are set to challenge the directive.

With Bridport 19th and still to play several clubs in and around them, the Bees were confident of picking up the necessary points to stave off relegation – regardless of the coronavirus crisis.

But Manley admitted the persistent uncertainty surrounding the future of the game could hamper next season.

“When does next season start?” he told Echosport.

“That’s the thing. Are we going to be through this to kick on for next season? I don’t know.

“We’ll just have to take every week as it comes and see how we go.

“That’s why I think this year had to be knocked on the head, because I don’t think we’ll be able to start next year on time.”
