POOR weather has for a third time forced the postponement of Wimborne Town’s Dorset Senior Cup tie with Weymouth.

The Terras had received home advantage by virtue of two postponements at Wimborne's New Cuthbury.

However, incessant heavy rain overnight into this morning, with further downpours expected until mid-afternoon, has waterlogged the Bob Lucas Stadium pitch.

Wimborne will hope it is fourth time lucky when a new date is announced in due course.

When the tie does go ahead, the Terras are widely expected to field a weakened side, flush with under-23 players and a handful of first-teamers.

Wimborne, meanwhile, are managed by ex-Weymouth striker Tim Sills and currently sit top of the Southern League Division One South in Step 4.

Magpies now turn their attentions to a home league game against Bishops Cleeve on Saturday (3pm).
